Google experiments high-speed network in the Stanford University
Earlier this year Goolge announced a willingness to experiment and test broadband networks at high speed in some American communities, today Google announced the imminent deployment of a network that we’d rolled his eyes. At Stanford University, where in fact Google was born in the persons of two university students, a campus is right there called Residential Subdivision and Google will make available to students and professors a network that will offer speeds of 1 gigabit per second!
The network of Stanford University, which is expected to be completed in early 2011, it is only the beta version of what Google plans to implement in the communities to be chosen, but the schedule is likely to be announced later this year. Google says that the choice of site for the beta version of this network is due to the geography and physics of the campus, consisting of a few houses and a relatively small area, but the suspicion that in this project there is also something “emotional” is strong
